The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) is the self-regulatory body for insurance brokers in Ontario. Established in October 1981, RIBO regulates the licensing, professional competence, ethical conduct, and insurance related financial obligations of all independent general insurance brokers in the province.

The Insurance Institute is the professional education arm of the general insurance industry in Canada. It is a not-for-profit association of 30,000 individual members employed in the general insurance business with insurance and reinsurance companies, brokerages, agencies, adjusting firms and employers of risk managers.
